Description

Mount Baker from Excelsior Peak. My friend and I had intended to drive up to Mount Baker to do some hiking, but the road was closed for roadwork, so we opted for a hike farther back down the Mount Baker Highway, Excelsior Peak. Though it is about 10 miles and almost 4,000 feet in elevation gain, it was a good alternative. The trail rises out of the forest into high meadows, turning autumn colors, with views of Mount Baker to the south.
